“Welcome, Anekke”, I said to myself.

And while a canoe rocked us to and fro across the river, making its way through calm waters, my heart began to pound.

I felt that everything was connected

through the river, through the water.

I too, started to become

part of the surroundings;

the river dressed me and carried me

through kilometres of wild and natural beauty.

I felt that everything was connected through the river, through the water.

I too, started to become

part of the surroundings;

the river dressed me

and carried me through

kilometres of wild

and natural beauty.

A warm soft light drew hundreds of green and brown organic shapes as it passed by. The sun’s rays decked out in golden sparkles on the leaves, almost as if they were threads of magic connecting us to those moments.

Sentí que todo se conectaba

a través del río, del agua.

También yo, que comenzaba

formar parte del entorno,

el río me vestía

y me transportaba

a través de kilómetros

de belleza salvaje.

And, in that immensity, nature came to life. The animals drank on both sides of the river. Cranes, parrots, toucans… displayed their beauty without artifice.

And in all that magnificence, I saw myself reflected in the gaze of a jaguar. A sincere and curious look, which kept the secrets of the Amazon behind its face.

Secrets that I discovered at every turn, giving free rein to my imagination with the flutter of the butterflies.

And at that split second I remember thinking how such a delicate creature like a butterfly could have a magical effect on the entire system.

It is Mother Nature that suddenly shows us all her facets, but also all our effects. She lets you flow through her water, fly on her wings, feel her essence. She makes you feel that we can be better, that we can look after everything that is now in danger of extinction, bring it back to life.

She makes you feel the power of the goddess of nature: Pachamama. It was said that she could make you breathe faster with her scenery, make you quiver with her flowers, amaze you with her colours and hypnotize you with her sounds.

She makes you feel that everything that is important is there, with her wild delicacy, changing into an echo that is engraved on your skin forever. Because we get back everything we give. And now, with each Anekke Amazonia bag or accessory a little bit of the Amazon will always be with you.
